Arranging physiotherapy for your parents in India from the UK
If you live in the UK and your parents are in India, a fall, a joint replacement or a stroke can leave you trying to organise care from thousands of miles away. Nuprana physiotherapists treat your parent at home in India by live video, keep you updated, and make it easy for you to join from the UK.

How it works
- 1
Message us on WhatsApp from your number abroad. Share your parent's reports, scans or discharge summary.
- 2
A Nuprana physiotherapist assesses your parent live on video at home in India, after screening for warning signs. You can join the call.
- 3
Your parent has regular 45 minute to 1 hour sessions with the same physiotherapist, usually daily, in Telugu, Hindi or English.
- 4
You receive progress updates, and Nuprie, our WhatsApp assistant, asks you and your parent for feedback so the plan keeps fitting.
Joining sessions across the time difference
India is 4.5 hours ahead of the UK in summer and 5.5 hours ahead in winter. An evening session in India is early afternoon in the UK, so joining during a lunch break is often possible.
| Session in India (IST) | UK (summer) | UK (winter) |
|---|---|---|
| 11:00 AM | 6:30 AM | 5:30 AM |
| 1:00 PM | 8:30 AM | 7:30 AM |
| 6:00 PM | 1:30 PM | 12:30 PM |
| 8:00 PM | 3:30 PM | 2:30 PM |
UK summer time runs from late March to late October. Session times are examples. Your parent's schedule is agreed with them.
You do not need to join every session. Tell us which ones matter to you, such as the first assessment, and we will try to schedule them at a time you can make.
Compared with physiotherapy in the UK
In the UK you may be used to NHS physiotherapy with a waiting list and a few appointments, or private sessions once a week. Our packages are built around more frequent sessions, usually daily, with a physiotherapist supervising every exercise live. That suits older parents who find it hard to keep up exercises alone.
Our clinical director, Dr. V. B. Rajendra Prasad, is registered with the HCPC, the UK regulator for physiotherapists, and our clinical protocols draw on his experience of practising in the UK, the US and India.
Before and after a parent's surgery
If a parent in India is having a knee or hip replacement, you can arrange exercise sessions before the operation to build strength, and rehabilitation afterwards once they are home. You can follow both from the UK and join the sessions that matter most to you, such as the first assessment after discharge.
Paying from abroad
Payment is in Indian rupees, by an Indian debit or credit card or by UPI. We do not accept international cards.
Most families abroad pay from an NRE or NRO account, using its Indian card or UPI, or ask a family member in India to pay. Many NRIs can now use UPI on an NRE or NRO account with their overseas mobile number.
